Obituary of Donnis Yvonne Potter
Donnis Y. Potter, age 81, of Mt. Morris, passed away Thursday, February 8, 2024. Mass of Christian Burial will take place 11:00 am Saturday, February 17, 2024, at SS Charles & Helena Catholic Church in Clio. Fr. Ken Coughlin will officiate with burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery in Mt. Morris. Donnis’ family will be present to receive friends at Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services in Mt. Morris on Friday, February 16, 2024, from 11:00 am until 8:00 pm. On Friday evening, family, friends and parish will gather to pray the Rosary Service at 7:00 pm; and on Saturday, Donnis will be taken to church to lie in state from 10:00 am until the time of funeral mass at 11:00 am. Donnis was born in Sterling, Michigan, on July 5, 1942, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Glen and Hazel (Witt) Lutze. Donnis enjoyed a career of factory work until her retirement on January 1, 2002. In her free time, she enjoyed reading, putting jigsaw puzzles together, camping, and traveling out west. She loved watching her grandkids sporting events, especially wrestling, softball, and hockey, as well as spending time with her siblings and sharing stories while having a few beers. She enjoyed watching Westerns, figure skating, and Tiger baseball. Donnis loved being “Gramma”, and most of all loved spending time with her grandkids and great grandkids.
Left to cherish Donnis’ memory are her children: Glen Lucas, Roy Lucas, and KaTrina Lucas; grandchildren: Adam and wife, Mechele Lucas; Cody and wife, Chrissy Lucas; Brandy Lucas and husband, Mark Kaminski; great-grandchildren: Cameron, Kaelyn, Logan, John Henry, Maverick, Liberty, and Ryker; siblings: Wayne Lutze, Marlene Albrecht, Kenny and wife, Gloria Lutze, and Lynn Goodman; good friends: Lisa Kaake, Marlane Fenlon, and Annie Bergstrom; as well as many other family members and friends.
Donnis was preceded in death by her parents; son, baby John; sisters: Arda Goodman, and Betty Ireland; daughter-in-law, Mary Robinson; in-laws: Ron, Wayne, Charlie, Sheila, and Devere; good friends: Dorlene Zack, Betty Wilcox, and Shirley Fitzpatrick.
