Obituary of Sonny Miller
Age 88, of Flint, passed away Monday, January 29, 2024, at home with his family by his side. A funeral service will take place at 1:00 pm, Friday, February 2, 2024, at Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services. Pastor Sarah LaRose-Nettell to officiate, with burial to follow at Flint Memorial Park Cemetery. Murrel’s family will be present to receive friends from 11:00 am, until the time of service at 1:00 pm. Expressions of sympathy may be placed on Murrel’s tribute wall at martinfuneralhome.com.
Murrel “Sonny” was born in Kansas City, Kansas on June 15, 1935, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Murrell and Lillie Miller. Sonny worked as a Construction Foreman most of his life, until his retirement in 1993. He was very hardworking and enjoyed working. Keeping busy was his favorite hobby. Whether that was at his job or tinkering in his garage working on classic cars and motorcycles. Sonny has a 1952 panel van that he took great pride in restoring as well as his 1979 Cadillac. Those were his prized possessions. In his free time, he enjoyed salmon fishing with his family and spending time with his beloved dogs. He will be dearly missed.
Left to cherish Sonny's memory are his children: Wyinona and husband, Terry Troutt, Thomas Miller and girlfriend, April, Timothy and wife, Leah Miller, Andrew and wife, Bunnie Pardee, Eugene Miller; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; siblings: Joyce, Rusty, Kenny, Marilyn "Joanie," Richard, Garry, Edward, Donald, Russel; several nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
Sonny was preceded in death by his parents; children: Michael Miller, and Davonna Petkoff; siblings: Paul, and Tommy, Ivan.
