Obituary of Cora Lucille Cranfill-Healan

Age 80, of Princeton, Virginia, passed away Thursday, December 28, 2023, at Glenwood Park Retirement Village with her family by her side. In accordance with Cora’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will take place at 1:00 pm, Saturday, April 27, 2024, at North Flushing Baptist Church, 7500 W. Mt. Morris Rd, Flushing, MI 48433. Bob Ramsey to officiate. Expressions of sympathy may be shared with Cora’s family on her tribute wall at martinfuneralhome.com.

 

Cora was born in Abbs Valley, West Virginia on December 25, 1943, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles and Frances (Bowman) Smith. Educated in West Virginia, she graduated from Pocohontas High School with the Class of 1961. Cora met and married the love of her life, Thomas Cranfill on April 10, 1972. Sadly, he preceded her in death on July 24, 2000. She was a longtime member of North Flushing Baptist Church. Cora loved to go to the car races and enjoyed fishing anywhere there was water. Playing BINGO was a favorite pastime of hers. Cora enjoyed listening to Bluegrass music and attending the Bluegrass festivals. She enjoyed traveling to see family as well as all over the United States. Spending time with her family was what she most enjoyed, especially on the holidays. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed.
 

Cora is survived by her daughters: Marsha Cranfill, Pamela (Santiago) Cranfill, Michelle (Kenneth) Moore, Loretta (Eric) Ramsey, Kimberly Taylor; brothers: Lowell (Carolyn) Smith, Glen Smith, Charles (Donna) Smith, Jr.; sisters: Linda Marshall, Deborah Kay (David) Bowman; grandchildren: George Wesley IV, Breanna Ramsey, Madeline Moore, Cedric Moore, Jessenia Cranfill, Justin Taylor, Jaiden Taylor; special cousin, Sandra Fuller; several nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

                                               

Cora was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Thomas Cranfill, her parents, and niece, Cindee Smith.
