Ronald "Falk” was born in Akron, Ohio, on December 14, 1941, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank and Patricia (Staples) Falkenstein. Educated in Akron, Ohio, Ron attended Archbishop Hoban High School, graduating with the Class of 1960. An amazing man, who was overly intellectual, Ron obtained his master’s degree from Mott Community College. He went on to become a teacher with the Mt. Morris School District as well as tutoring students in math, for many years. He then continued his education and went on to become a Professor at Mott Community College teaching Mathematics. Ron was known as a fun teacher, expecting his students to work hard in his class, and used different teaching styles to help his students understand math. He was always available before or after class to help his students out. Ron was a devoted Catholic and attended many masses at many different churches. He enjoyed hearing the homily. Spending time outside tending to his flower garden was something he often enjoyed. Falk was an animal lover and has spent most of his life taking in rescue dogs and giving them a good home. To say he loved to learn and read would be an understatement, Ron owned over 5,000 books. Sharing his love to read, Falk collected children's books over the years, tapping into his alumni for donations, and donating books to children in the Flint area over the years. Many children developed a love for reading, because of Falk's generosity. He was a wonderful friend and will be dearly missed. Ron's friends would like to extend a special thank you to the wonderful staff at Brookdale in Grand Blanc for their love and care over the last year.
Left to cherish Ron's memory are his friends: Douglas Lamb, Alice Yaklin, the entire Lamb family and dear friend, Carolyn Frisby, several neighbors and friends.
Ron was preceded in death by his parents.
