Obituary of Hallie Naomi Howard

Age 78, of Clio, died Sunday, December 2, 2007 at Avalon Hospice surrounded by her family. Hallie's funeral service will be celebrated at 10:30am, Wednesday, December 5, 2007 at Trinity Assembly of God in Mt. Morris. Pastor David Krist will officiate. Burial at Great Lakes National Cemetery. The family will be present to greet friends at the Miles Martin Funeral Home on Tuesday from 1:00pm to 9:00pm. On Wednesday morning, Hallie will be taken to church to lie in state from 9:00am until the time of service at 10:30am. Those desiring may direct memorial contributions to the Carriage Town Rescue Mission, 605 Garland, Flint, 48503. Envelopes are available at the funeral home and church.\

Hallie was born September 24, 1929 in Boomer, West Virginia the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph and Eva (Null) Kirk. She was a resident of the Flint area most of her life. She and Richard Howard were united in marriage September 15, 1956 in Flint. She was employed at AC Spark Plug for many years and volunteered for the Carriage Town Rescue Mission in downtown Flint preparing meals and sharing fellowship for several years. Hallie was a member of the Trinity Assembly of God Church in Mt. Morris, where she, in previous years, enjoyed her role, and ministry, in overseeing the church kitchen. She was a graduate of Faith Tech Bible College and was previously a member of the First Church of the Nazarene on Beecher Rd. in Flint.\

Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 51 years, Richard Howard, Sr. seven children; Michael D. Wall, Stephen D. Wall (Susan), Michaella S. Messer (Keith), Virginia D. Adams, Richard J. Howard, Jr., Rhonda H. Albarkat (Mike), Rodney A. Howard (Mary), 16 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, sister, Virginia Horton, and many nieces, nephews and a host of friends.\

Hallie was preceded in death by her parents and15 siblings.\

The family wishes to thank the nursing staff at Avalon Hospice for all the care they gave to Hallie. \
