Obituary of Bernadine Ann Marie Robere
Age 72, of Mt. Morris, passed away Sunday, December 10, 2023, at Ascension Genesys with her family by her side. A Mass of Christian burial will take place at 1:00 pm, Wednesday, December 20, 2023, at St. John Catholic Church in Davison. Fr. Rev. Andrew Czajkowski to officiate. Bernadine’s family will be present to receive friends from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Tuesday, December 19, 2023, at Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services in Mt. Morris. On Tuesday evening at 7:00 pm, family, friends, and parish will gather to pray the Rosary. On Wednesday morning, Bernadine will be taken to church to lie in state from 12:00 noon until the time of service at 1:00 pm. Memorial contributions may be considered to St. John Catholic Church. Bernadine “Dena” was born in Flint, on August 21, 1951, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Eugene and Maxine (Pashby) Belanger. Educated locally, she attended St. Mary High School in Mt. Morris and graduated with the Class of 1969. While in high school, Dena would meet a young man, Burton Robere. The two dated fell in love and were united in marriage on October 7, 1972. Dena pursued a career in the banking industry, working in financial securities and as a mortgage processor for over 20 years. An active member of St. John Catholic Church, Dena was a member for over 20 years, volunteering in many capacities. Dena loved to spend time with her family. She often hosted her entire family for gatherings and holidays. Known for being a fantastic hostess, she loved to bake, especially peanut butter fudge. It was a family favorite!
Christmas was Dena’s favorite holiday and with that, she kept her tree up all year round. She would theme her tree to the upcoming holiday, many of the decorations were handmade by Dena. She also enjoyed online shopping and getting all dressed up for a dinner out with her husband, Burt, always making sure to leave room for dessert! A dedicated U of M fan, Dena was a season ticket holder dating back to the 80s! Go Blue! She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and will be dearly missed.
Left to cherish Dena's memory are her beloved husband of 51 years, Burt Robere; children: Lynn Hiltz and Alisa Robere; grandchildren: Caitlin Hiltz, Taylor Hiltz, Gabriella Llanos; great-granddaughter, Melanni; siblings: Richard and wife, Cindy Belanger, Edward and wife, Brooke Belanger, Cathy Sheppard, Joseph and wife, Jennifer Belanger; several nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
Dena was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Mike Belanger.
