Albert “Al” was born in Forest Twp, Michigan, on October 30, 1927, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Albert and Pearl (Voorhees) Hoschna. Educated locally, he attended Flint Northern High School and graduated with the Class of 1945. He went on to further his education and obtained his associate degree from Mott Community College. Al met and married his beautiful bride, Evelyn Wild, and the two were married for 68 wonderful years. Sadly, she preceded him in death on August 23, 2012. Al worked at General Motors Buick Division as a tool & die maker for 47 years, until his retirement in 1993. Al was an active member of the Mt. Morris Church of Christ. He was a deacon and loved to volunteer his time to help whenever he was able. Photography was his passion, and he took many photos and even built a darkroom in his basement so he could develop them. A talented man, Al built his home from the ground up. He did all of his own work. Al loved to travel and would often take trips with his beloved wife to Alaska, Florida, or anywhere else they could think of. He was also a skilled pilot and he loved to be in the air flying through the clouds. Al could often be found outside, as he enjoyed the outdoors. He made a wonderful flower and vegetable garden that he enjoyed tending to as well as hunting with his brother up north in Clare. He never missed a hunting season. Dancing with his wife was another one of Al’s favorite pastimes. They would often go square dancing every weekend. In his free time, Al enjoyed golfing and spending time with his family. He was a wonderful man and will be greatly missed.

Left to cherish Al’s memory are his daughter, Sandra and husband, Jim Kinnamon; sister, Carol Crittenden; adopted granddaughter, Emily Rasor; close friends: Danny and Stephanie McClure; niece, Christine and husband, Collin Pinkston; special friends and wonderful caregivers: Anita Grim and Melissa; sisters-in-law, Beverly Henderson and Georgia Wild.

Al was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 68 years, Evelyn Hoschna; sons: Johnny and James Hoschna; brothers: William Henderson and Louie Henderson; brother-in-law, Carl Crittenden.
