Obituary of Francis David Green
Age 80, of Mt. Morris, passed away Monday, November 13, 2023, at Kith Haven Nursing Home. A Funeral Service will take place at 1:00 pm, Thursday, December 7, 2023, at Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services. Bishop Chris Pangrel to officiate, with burial to follow at Flint Memorial Park Cemetery. Francis’ family will be present to receive friends from 11:00 am until the time of service at 1:00 pm. Memorial contributions may be directed to the American Cancer Society. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Francis “Butch” “Frank” “Chuck” was born in Flint on June 5, 1943, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Donald and Lila (Lutze) Green. Educated locally, he attended Flint Central High School and graduated with the Class of 1961. Butch worked at General Motors for 46 years where he dedicated his life to his hard work for his family so they would have a wonderful life until his retirement in 2006. Butch met and married his first wife, Lynn Kay Smith, in 1962 and enjoyed 18 years of marriage and they had two wonderful children. Then he met and married, Brenda Allen, on February 4, 1988. Butch was a dedicated member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and devoted much of his time to helping those in need. Working in the Bishop storehouse handing out food as well as anything else he could do to help those less fortunate was his passion. Butch loved his family and enjoyed family functions and get-togethers. Deer hunting and camping in Gladwin were some of his favorite pastimes. He also enjoyed woodworking and putting together large puzzles. His dog Gracie was his best friend and he loved her with all his heart. He will be dearly missed.
Left to cherish Butch's memory are his daughter, Lisa and husband, Kenny deBeaumont; Brenda’s children, Diane Hart and Jimmy Weinert; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; siblings: Lynda Wiegand, Anna Green, Kevin Green; several nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
Butch was preceded in death by his first wife, Lynn, second wife, Brenda; parents; son, David Saunders Sgt Green; brother, Donald James Green, Jr.; sisters: Lora Storey, and Lana Scott.
