Obituary of Eugene Emil Block, Jr.
Age 65, of Flint, passed away Saturday, November 11, 2023, at Kith Haven Nursing Home. In accordance with Eugene’s wishes, cremation has taken place. There are no further services scheduled at this time. Expressions of sympathy may be placed on Eugene’s tribute wall at martinfuneralhome.com.
Eugene was born in Aberdeen, South Dakota, on December 11, 1957, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Eugene and Linda (Payne) Block, Sr. Heeding the call to serve his country, Eugene proudly enlisted in the United States Army until his honorable discharge. He met and married the love of his life, Jean Davis, on May 10, 1991. Eugene was an avid fisherman. He loved to fish off the bridge in Genesee any chance he got. He was a skilled mechanic and loved to tinker on many different projects. Watching football was another favorite pastime. The teams playing were not important to Eugene, he just enjoyed the sport. Eugene was well known for keeping a meticulous yard and he had beautiful flower gardens to show for it as well as a beautiful yard. Eugene was a wonderful husband, father, and friend and will be greatly missed.
Left to cherish Eugene's memory are his beloved wife, Jean; son, Eugene Block, III; several brothers and sisters; many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
Eugene was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, and three sisters.
