I could write a book on our close and special friendship, but first I shall tell you I loved Mary very much.
Our first encounter was just through a simple Hello, Good morning, as we passed one another in a large victorian house that had been transformed into 3 apts, Mary was renting one of the downstairs units and my two year old son and myself the upstairs. Not long after moving in our landlord called upon me to say he had to move his special needs adult son in my unit, and I must immediately move out, sitting on the front porch crying my eyes out Mary approched, as I poured out my encounter with our landlord, Mary too becamed upset, and without one bit of hesitation said you can live with me. Mary had just lost her Mother, and was attending college. Just like sisters we had our ups and downs, but through it all, we grew and forever had each others back, if not for her love of others in less fortunate situations I have no idea where I'd be today, that day the Lord sent me an earthly angel, he sent me my Mary...

My family we didn't know her very long. Maybe a year off and on. My husband worked on her jeep when she needed maintenance done to it. She was a nice lady. She was always nice to us. She would give my daughter cookies. My daughter loved her dog howels. This year she invited us on labor day to her aunt's place in Fenton. We had a good time with her and her family. They were all very good people to us. She will be missed. I want to say sorry for everyone's loss that knew her i pray God will help you all through this. God bless you all.

I met Mary when we were both stationed in Germany at the 98th General Hospital in the 70's. I have considered her one of my dearest friends. I loved her laugh and how she would say my name. Over the years sometimes we lost touch with each other and when we reconnected it was like we had talked yesterday.. I loved the experiences we shared in Europe. When we both got out of the Army we did a road trip from Michigan to Missouri and then to moved to Louisiana. Mary met all my family before we left on the road trip and I met her family on our road trip.
When I think back that care free road trip with Mary was the best experience in my life.

Mary Lou embodied the true spirit of life. Her radiant intelligence shined brightly, lighting up each room she entered. She was elegantly courageous, spiritedly adventurous and tangibly loving - a generous soul touched by creativity's wand. Whether discussing animals or lifting spirits in troubled times, her kindness permeated every interaction we shared. Mary Lou's remarkable spirit enriched my life in countless ways; something for which I will eternally be grateful. May she soar high in eternal peace while her inspiring legacy continues to live with us all.

My very first memory of my Dear Sister was when our mother asked Mary to "walk" with me by holding my hands. Well apparently Mary got tired of walking me around the yard, so she put a stone in each hand and low and behold, I started walking without her assistance. To this very day, I have a deep love of stones as well as a deep love for her and all her patience she had with me. RIP my Dear Sister.
