There’s one other item I wanted to share with you. I had forgotten it until I went to the funeral home and seen the flowers that were there…in particular the flowers that were on the red Mustang. Jesse had just bought his first new car. It was a red Mustang convertible. Of course, he had to bring it to show me. I thought it was the “cats meow” ! So I jumped into the driver s seat and said: “let’s go for a ride”. He then gave me the keys. It was a stick shift so I didn’t think that he knew that my ‘56 Chevrolet was also a stick. I took the keys and away we went. When we returned to my home Jesse made the remark that I was the only person that he had let drive his cherry red Mustang! And that he was impressed by the way that I had driven it. The car was his very first love. I believe that Margaret was the second love of his life. Thank you Margaret for lasting longer than the Mustang.

Jesse and Margaret visited our home quite often, before we all got old. But this one occasion, it was definitely a great day for all of us because of Jesse. My husband, Donald, always told anyone that used our restroom to “leave a quarter on the back of the toilet”. This one particular visit my cousin, Jesse, must have been feeling very goofy because when he used the restroom, yep, you guessed it, Jesse did as he was told! We didn’t notice it until afterwards, but sure enough, there was the quarter on the back of toilet!! That story is still something that we still get a chuckle out of it. But that is who Jesse was, he was fun and sometimes silly. He was one of the best cousins a person could ever have and he will be greatly missed.
