Carol was born in Flint on October 2, 1944, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lyle and Maude (Allen) Gardner. Educated locally, Carol attended Mt Morris High School graduating with the Class of 1962. On April 18, 1964, Carol married the love of her life, Robert Fisher, at the United Methodist Church in Mt. Morris. She was a talented hairdresser for 17 years and she cherished the relationships that she built with her clients and coworkers. After raising their family in Millington, they retired to their beloved “cottage house” on Hubbard Lake. Carol loved her time at the lake with her family and friends. She was a member of the Alpena Snow Drifters and the Hubbard Lake Sportsman Association. She enjoyed playing Bunko, “cheating” at playing cards and dice. She was a long-time member of the Red Hat Society. She loved her family more than anything and spent many afternoons with her grandchildren, setting up fancy tea parties. She was a very social person and was known as the life of the party. She will be greatly missed.
Carol’s family would like to express their sincerest appreciation and thanks to the Heartland Hospice team as well as the staff at the Medilodge in Tawas for their outstanding care and compassion.
Left to cherish Carol’s memory is her loving husband of 59 years, Robert E.Fisher; son, Robert W. and wife, Jennifer Fisher; grandchildren: Danyel Fisher, Mackenzie Fisher, Peighton Fisher, Landon Fisher; 4 great-grandchildren; two sisters; one brother; and many special nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Shayne Fisher; and little brother, Wesley Gardner.
