Lauren was born in Flint to Mr. and Mrs. Timothy and Angelia Shoens on October 19, 1998. She attended Mt. Morris High School where she met her long-time life partner Kyle Danko. They resided in Flushing. Lauren was an adoring, attentive, and dedicated full-time mom to their 2 ½-year-old daughter and her best friend Brinlee Mckay Danko. Lauren and her “mini”, Brinlee, were rarely apart and shared the same interests in all things girly, cheetah print, and Minnie Mouse. When Lauren and Brinlee would get together with the rest of the Cheetah Brigade (her Mimi, and her Lexi) nail painting, hair styling, fashion shows, and dance parties were always on the agenda. This Cheetah Brigade was also a never-ending ebb and flow of borrowed outfits, shoes, accessories, and fashion advice between mother, daughters, and sisters with the always inevitable post-event borrowed clothing inventory check. Many a get-together resulted in a “hey girl, that’s my shirt!” Lauren was an animal lover to the extent that she always had a menagerie of animals ever present in her life ranging from dogs, cats, sugar gliders, fish, bunnies, and recently co-conspired with her siblings to bring chickens into her mother and step-father’s life under the guise of an early Father’s Day gift. Anyone who knew Lauren understood that behind her stunning natural beauty and classy demeanor was the kindest, most generous, loving, and caring individual that ever existed. She literally would do anything for anyone that deserved help. Added to these amazing qualities was her ability to show her intense loyalty and appreciation to those that deserved it…without saying a word. Her behavior and actions spoke volumes. She came from the stock of strong, beautiful, powerful, and amazing women from her great-grandmothers, through her aunts and matriarchal mother Angelia. Many lives will forever be impacted by the tragic and sudden loss of Lauren as the world was truly a better place with her in it.
Left to cherish Lauren's memory are her daughter, Brinlee; life partner, Kyle Danko; mother, Angelia (Adam) Abt; sister, Alexis (Lexi) Shoens; brother, Landon Shoens; stepbrother and sister, Seth and Sydnee Abt; grandmother; Sherry (Ed) McIntyre; grandfather, Randy Cameron; grandparents: Timothy and Doris Shoens, and Mick and Carla Bachi; great-grandfather William Hawley.
