Obituary of Shelby Jean Mannor
Age 86, of Genesee passed away Wednesday, May 10, 2023, at Ascension Genesys with her family by her side. A Funeral Service will take place at 12:00 noon, Tuesday, May 16, 2023, at Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services. Shelby’s family will be present to receive friends from 11:00 am until the time of service at 12:00 noon. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the Genesee Lions Auxiliary. Shelby was born in Cullman, Alabama, on April 18, 1937, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Cline and Lillie (Craven) Williams. Shelby attended Holly Pond High School and graduated with the Class of 1954. She met and married the love of her life, David Mannor, on February 23, 1957. Their union would be blessed with three beautiful daughters. Shelby loved to talk to everyone and anyone. She was a very giving and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who always put her family first. She never had to be asked to help; she just knew what was needed and stepped in to help. Shelby always had her children’s backs. Her love knew no bounds. Shelby was very strong in her Christian faith. She was a faithful volunteer with the Genesee Lionesses for many years. Shelby enjoyed reading novels, shopping for her grandchildren, traveling all over, especially Alabama, and collecting David Winter Cottages and bird figurines. Shelby was loved by all who knew her. She enjoyed the special times she spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be greatly missed.
Shelby’s family has requested that all family and friends wear bright colors to celebrate her life.
Left to cherish Shelby's memory are her loving husband of 66 years, David Mannor; children: Nancy and husband, John Bennett, Sherry Mannor, Cindy Mannor; grandchildren: Justine, David (Glenn), Bryan, Joshua (Andrea), Jamie (Brett), Austin, Shelby (Trevor); great-grandchildren: Isabella, Caleb, Ezra, Norah, Brenna, Keegan, Ava, Sayla, Damien, Marcus, Maverick, Wyatt; siblings: Gerald Williams, Brenda (Tom) Lenz; many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
Shelby was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Ellawease; granddaughter, Leighsa.
