Morris High School, graduating with the Class of 1948. Zelpha met and married the love of her life, Leonard Vincent, Jr., on November 5, 1949. Sadly, he preceded her in death on July 30, 1999. She would later meet, fall in love again, and marry Wayne R. Volz on August 21, 2010, in Clio. Sadly, he preceded her in death on May 27, 2014. Zelpha enjoyed spending time with family and friends, swimming at Otter Lake and the gravel pit as a young child. She also enjoyed volunteering in many capacities, playing cards, and oil painting. Growing up, Zelpha worked at A&W as a Car Hop as well as at her dad's insurance office once in a while. From there, she would begin working for Gilmar & Martin Shoes. In 1976, Zelpha decided to open Zelpha's Shoes, where she was the owner and operator for 13 years until her retirement in 2000. She loved to golf anywhere. Whether it was in Michigan or Florida, she could always be found on the golf course. Zelpha was a snowbird and loved to go to Zephyrhills, Florida, for the winter. She was a former member of the First United Methodist Church of Mt. Morris. Zelpha was very active in the Order of the Eastern Star; she was the Past-President of the United Methodist Women of Mt. Morris Chapter #474. Zelpha also served as the Grand Representative of Oklahoma in the Michigan Grand Chapter and Grand Committee in the Belknap-Hyde Grand Family Order of the Eastern Star. She was also the past-President of the Mt. Morris Area Chamber of Commerce. Zelpha loved her family and spending time with them. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. She will be greatly missed.
