my name is Sheila Carpenter. Maiden name was Rollins. I am Joan Rollins daughter. My mom died in 1973 and Linda and Jim were great to me. I have often thought of them , but could never find them until now.
Jim: I am so sorry for your loss. Both of you were so kind to a young 15 yr old girl who had just lost her mother.
I live in Beaufort, South Carolina now.
My phone is : 1-843-812-5157.
Text me if you would like to chat. Sometimes i don't answer my phone if I don't know the number calling.

I just learned of this today as I have been without cellular service. I am in shock. Linda was a such a bright spot at church and was always thinking of others to see how she could brighten their day. She recently told me that we should do what we can while we can, for we never know when the chance will be taken away. She loved caring and watching over Jim. I know she will be greatly missed by her family and all her (so many!) good friends.
Condolences to the family. My heart and prayers are with you during this time of loss. There is no doubt she is in a "far better" place now, but this kind of loss always cuts deep into the heart.

My sisters and I grew up with Linda,Karen,Ron and Pat in our childhood neighborhood. In the summer, Linda would come down to our house and we would play jacks on our front porch. She was always happy and had a bounce in her step. We enjoyed playing with her. I miss those days and I miss Linda. May God comfort the souls of her sisters and brother.

Linda would always call my mom and dad's when she knew I was in town and then we would plan on a time to get together. She would always send my husband and I a anniversary card because she always remembered that our anniversary was her first of retirement. She was a great Christian lady and I will miss her.

I remember when my older Sister was having cancer surgery, we didn't know she was coming, but here she came, and sat down with us for moral support. It was a great comfort for her to be there. Even if we didn't talk, it was good to see her there supporting us. This was something that Linda did for many people when they were in stress, or grief, or just meeting somebody for lunch, whatever it was if Linda could be there she was. Thank you Linda...We Loved you.

I deeply loved and admired Linda. Linda was kind and caring, and when she skated it was poetry in motion. She could glide effortlessly around the rink... and often would stop to help beginning skaters (like myself) to gain confidence and learn to skate. Linda was humble about her achievements and service to others. She loved hockey and the Firebirds... and the Detroit Tigers. Jim and Linda treated Tom and I to a few hockey games. It was always a pleasure to sit beside Linda and see her enthusiasm for the team. When the National anthem was played, she always stood and saluted the flag. She loved her country and proudly served with her husband in the Navy. I enjoyed our many breakfasts and lunches, and spending time with her. Linda was a sister in Christ, and she had a humble servant's heart. She will be greatly missed. I miss her already. :'(

Linda was a wonderful woman I remember when my oldest daughter broke her arm and needed surgery. My parents we’re babysitting our other daughters and couldn’t be at the hospital so Linda arrived to sit with us I didn’t even know how much I needed her until she was there. What a wonderful Christian example she was ❤️
