James “Jim” was born in Flint on July 6, 1958, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Deverne and Minnie (Serra) Bussineau. Jim met and married the love of his life, Gail Galbreath, on March 17, 2022, in Vassar at the Eagles Club until they were blessed to have the big wedding they always wanted on September 10, 2022, where they shared their day with their family and friends. Jim worked at the Apple Lane Orchard in Flint for many years until they closed. He then went into business for himself, working in the landscaping industry. At the young age of 17, Jim proudly enlisted in the United States Army, from April 20, 1976, until February 1, 1978, where he served his country with honor during the Vietnam Era. During his time in the service, Jim obtained a Marksman Qualification Badge with an M-16. Upon his honorable discharge, Jim returned to the states. He was so proud to have served his country and was chosen last November as the veteran of the Firebirds Hockey game on November 11, 2022. Jim loved hockey and fishing with his beloved wife. His favorite fishing spot was at Mott Lake, but he could fish anywhere he found water. Jim was a collector of many things. He loved going to BINGO and the casino, where he enjoyed playing the slots, and watching whatever machine was winning. Jim was well known for his love of Christmas and Halloween decorations. He had the best display in town and even received a gift card from Bronner’s for his decorations. He also had a mannequin named Henry and loved to dress him up for holidays. Being raised in an Italian home, Jim was a wonderful cook and made the most amazing meatballs and lasagna. He loved his dog and best friend, Rufus. Jim would spend three hours every morning and three hours every evening talking with his loving wife. They could talk for hours. He will be greatly missed.
