Amber was born in Detroit on February 10, 1948, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clifford and Mary (Bays) DeRosia. Amber met and married the love of her life, David Chase, on August 6, 1966. Sadly, he preceded her in death on May 22, 2022. Amber worked at General Motors, Buick City, on the Assembly line for over 25 years, until her retirement in 2003. Amber was known for making the best oatmeal banana, chocolate chip, and raisin with sprinkles cookies. She also was known for her cake-decorating skills. Since she burned everything she tried to cook, she enjoyed eating at restaurants for every meal. Amber loved spending time with her family, whether camping at Genesee Otter Lake, where she could enjoy looking at the water and fishing, going to Stepping Stone Falls to feed the fish, or spending time in Frankenmuth. As long as she was with her family, she was content. Amber enjoyed spending time at the casino and playing scratch-off tickets. Shopping, bowling, and collecting Elvis and Princess Diana memorabilia were some of her favorite pastimes. Amber had an amazing collection of music boxes, bells, Native American dolls, and several other figurines. Christmas was Amber’s favorite holiday, and she loved to spoil her family, starting with the largest stocking she could find. In her free time, she enjoyed “smut” magazines and word searches. Her dogs were the little loves in her life. She always had a Coke Zero or Squirt in her hand. Amber would do anything for anyone, and she will be greatly missed.
