Obituary of Evelyn Faye South

Of Flint, age 70, died Monday, December 28, 2009 at Fostorian in Flushing. The funeral service will take place 2:00pm, Thursday, December 31, 2009 at the Miles Martin Funeral Home in Mt. Morris. Pastor Kenneth Sharp will officiate with burial to follow in Flint Memorial Park. Family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:00noon until 8:00pm on Wednesday. Those desiring may direct memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Faye was born February 28, 1939, in Cypress-Inn, Tennessee, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Willie and Linnie (Wright) Darby. Faye was a lady of few words, she loved to cook and talk on the phone. Faye enjoyed gardening, telling stories, and most of all spending time with her family. She worked as an independent home health aid for 5 years. Faye leaves to cherish her memory her children, Roger and wife, Tami, Tami and husband, James Parks, Bruce and wife, Crystal, Kurtis and wife, Amy; nine grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren, siblings, Francis, Sue, Judy, Donald, Kenneth; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.She was preceded in death by her parents; infant son, Brian; son, Scott; sibings, Dan, Pete, Rick, Stan.
