Lela was born in Moulton, Alabama on August 15, 1935, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert and Mary Sriney Janett (Flatt) Morrow. While working at Hamilton’s Restaurant, she met and fell in love with the love of her life, Hazen Marshall. The two were married, and their union was blessed with 8 beautiful children. Lela was a dedicated homemaker and mother, who loved her children deeply. She loved pulling out her guitar and singing to her children, along with all the neighborhood children. She was happiest when she was surrounded by their tiny faces, playing old country and gospel songs. Lela was involved with her “Secret Pal Club” for 35 years, and she shared deep and loving friendships with the ladies who were part of the club. In her later years, Lela was very active at the Kraphol Senior Center and volunteered to do several jobs that aided in the functioning of the center. Lela was an incredibly fun and kind person, who will be dearly missed.

Left to cherish her memory are her children,Janet and husband, Mark Wood, Janice and husband, Russell Swift , Roger and wife, Lisa Thom, Debi and husband, John Thomas, Kathy and husband, Dan Ellis, Steve and wife, Leah Marshall, Terry and wife, Eilleen Marshall; Don and wife, Alexis Marshall; 14 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild, and several nieces and nephews.

Honoring their grandmother, the pallbearers will be Charlie Thom, Mike Thomas, Anthony Wood, Jeffrey Ellis, Ryan Blom, and Jayce Smith; honorary pallbearers will be Russty Swift, Bobbi Long, Eric Johnson, Astian Moore, and Bently Miller.

Lela was preceded in death by her parents, and loving husband, Hazen.
