I think everyone who knew grandma knew how much she enjoyed coming to her home with me, because it reminded her of the farm. I will remember how close we were, and all the private things we shared together. I will remember everything she said to me when I saw her at the hospital, and will remember all the wonderful vacations that she and I took every summer. I'll remember making dough-dobs with her, and her sand-bagging at Euchre, driving mom crazy! She laughed about that the last time I saw her at the hospital. She shared her thoughts and dreams with Collin and I, and she will be alive everyday, living through my son and I. I praise God for ending her suffering and taking her to such a better, peaceful place. She told me that she didn't want anyone to cry for her, but to smile and remember the happy memories. I, for one, intend to honor her last wishes by smiling when thinking of her and talking to her often, keeping my friend, my grandmother, alive in my heart always. She told me she wanted it that way. I know no one or nothing can take away my memories of the close bond we shared, and how much fun we had together, and how she loved coming up to the country to her "second home" as she called it. She loved me, and I love her. Nothing can ever change that. She will live forever in my heart.
