Obituary of Norma Jean Bowser
Age 80, of Mt. Morris, passed away Sunday, October 16, 2022, at home with her family by her side. A Celebration of Life ceremony will take place at 4:00 PM Friday, October 28, 2022, at Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services. Norma's family will be present to receive friends and family beginning at 1:00 PM until the time of service at 4:00 PM. Memorial contributions may be considered to Alzheimer's Association. Norma's family would like to invite friends to a Celebration of Life dinner, following the service, at 6:00 PM at Roger's Lodge Community Center, 219 Roger's Lodge Drive, Clio, MI 48420. Norma was born in Kalamazoo, Michigan, on March 18, 1942, the daughter of Melva Rowland. Norma graduated from Michigan School for the Blind with the class of 1962. Norma was a cheerleader and played trombone in the school band. After graduation, Norma worked as a switchboard operator for Goodwill Industries. Norma met Billie Lee Bowser during her time with Goodwill Industries, and the couple would be married on February 19, 1966, in Flint. Their happy union would be blessed with 6 children. Norma was a dedicated homemaker and stay-at-home mother. Norma loved to bowl, dance, and listen to all genres of music. Norma’s children fondly remembered her dancing in the kitchen while music was playing. Norma especially loved popular tunes from 1960s and 1970s. Norma was incredibly kind, and saw the good in everyone. She was a loving, caring, and beautiful person to everyone who knew her. Norma's children have wonderful memories of nightly prayers and lullabies, with hugs and kisses aplenty.
Left to cherish Norma’s memory are her children, Michelle Bowser-Buford, Dawn (Adam) Lamb, Rhonda Bowser, Kristle Hagadorn, Marc Bowser, Marsha Bowser; special grandson, Anton Buford who took such loving care of Norma; 14 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren.
Norma is preceded in death by her loving husband, Billie, her mother, Melva, her sister, Emily, and her adoptive mother, Betty Jane Neuman.
