Obituary of Fayetta Marie Hughey

Age 91, of Clio, died Sunday, September 4, 2022, at home with her family by her side. A funeral service will take place at 1:00 pm, Friday, September 9, 2022, at Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services in Mount Morris, with Pastor Douglas Armstrong to officiate. Fayetta's family will be present to receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, September 8, beginning at 2:00 pm until 8:00 pm, and again on Friday, beginning at 10:00 am, until the time of service at 1:00 pm. Fayetta was born in Bay City on May 8, 1931, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Darcy and Corrine (Monville) Savage, as one of 9 siblings. Fayetta was introduced to Frederick Hughey through mutual friends, and their love blossomed. The couple was blessed with 48 years of marriage. Fayetta was a dedicated homemaker, caring for her home, husband, and eight children.

Fayetta loved to watch the birds at their feeders in the yard, do jigsaw puzzles, read books, watch nature shows on television, and complete word search puzzles. Fayetta's favorite thing was holding babies while rocking in her special chair. Fayetta had a magnetic personality and always treated people with kindness and acceptance. She had a solid Christian faith, and her treatment of others best demonstrated it.

Left to cherish Fayetta's memory are her children, Alan, Duane and wife Jean, Richard and wife Bonnie, Bruce, Keith and wife Joyce, Karen, and Steve; siblings, Barb and Pat; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. 

Fayetta was preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband, her son, Jimmy; brothers, Bobby, Dutch, and Ronald; sisters, Elaine, Ramona, and Betty.
