Obituary of Yvonne Maxine Brow
Age 93, of Mt. Morris, died Tuesday, July 19, 2022, at Ascension Genesys. A private family burial will be held at Crestwood Cemetery. There are no further services scheduled at this time. Expressions of sympathy may be placed on Yvonne’s tribute page at martinfuneralhome.com.
Yvonne was born in Wheeler, Michigan, on January 10, 1929, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lyle and Alice (Greening) Sherwood. Educated locally, Yvonne attended the Michigan School for the Deaf, graduating with the Class of 1948. She met and fell in love with, Melvin Brow, whom she met while attending school, and the two were married on October 21, 1950. Yvonne was well known in her family for her fabulous baking. She made the best peanut butter cookies and lemon meringue pie, among other favorites. Yvonne enjoyed camping all over Northern MI and Canada with her family. She enjoyed all sorts of crafts and puzzles. She also enjoyed playing cards and was a part of a card club for many years with her friends. Yvonne worked as a tutor at Mott Community College for ASL students. She was a very active person and enjoyed doing things with the senior citizen's group through the deaf club. One of her favorite pastimes was going for car rides through the country every Sunday morning. Yvonne loved her family and will be greatly missed.
Left to cherish Yvonne's memory are her three children: Wanda Hanna, Barry and wife, Kathryn Brow, Roy and wife, Becky Sue Brow; 4 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; brother, Arland and wife, Brenda Sherwood; several nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
Yvonne was preceded in death by her loving husband, Melvin; her parents; siblings: Duane, Calvin, and Larry.
