Arthur “Art” was born in Flint, on September 27, 1942, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd and Martha Louise (Burkett) Acord. Art met and married the love of his life, Barbara Bryant, on September 17, 1983, in Pontiac. Art was a proud business owner for A&A Poured Concrete for 35 years, until his retirement in 1999. Art loved to be outdoors. He didn’t care what he was doing, as long as he was outside. He loved riding his ATVs and motorcycle. Art could often be found deer and rabbit hunting in his yard or Up North in Harrison. Art also belonged to the Grand Blanc Sportsman’s Club, where he was a member of the skeet club. Art had a passion for old cars and often had one in his collection. He enjoyed attending car shows anywhere he could find one. Most of all, Art loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them. He will be greatly missed.
Art leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of 38 years, Barbara Acord; children: Shawn Scarpelli, and Ryan Acord and girlfriend, Samantha Taylor; several grandchildren; sister, Barbara Murphy, Joann Schupbach; brother, Herman and wife, Vickie Acord; several nieces, nephews, and friends.
Art was preceded in death by his parents; children: Shawn Marie Acord, Brian Acord, Art Acord II, siblings: James Acord, Allison Harrison; brother-in-law, Don Murphy.
