Kay was born in Flint, on September 5, 1955, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Paul and Shirley (Culhane) Hovis. Kay met Lanny Tinnin, and the two were united in marriage on April 13, 2002. Kay was an avid bowler in her younger years and was on a league at East Town Bowl for many years. Every Wednesday night was called “Hen Night” because it is when Kay and a group of friends would get together and gossip. Kay had a passion for online shopping. She would buy anything from clothes to furniture. Kay enjoyed spending time in her pool and often would spend all summer throwing pool parties and spending time with her family. She enjoyed being out on her deck, decorating it, and keeping it clean and modern. She loved to watch old western movies, especially if they had John Wayne in them, MASH, and Pirates of the Caribbean. Kay’s 3 dogs were the absolute love of her life. Teddy, Eddy, and Freddy will greatly miss their momma.
Left to cherish Kay’s memory is her husband, Lanny Tinnin; children: Dawn and husband, Tony Cuevas, Jack Boyd, Shannon Hovis, Jason and wife, Pamela Boyd, Jennifer Boyd, Christina and husband, Edward Swain; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; precious fur babies: Teddy, Eddy, and Freddy; sister, Linda Wilson; lifelong best friend, Dana Holmes; many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
