Obituary of Daren Allen Hawley
Daren Allen Hawley, of Flushing, Michigan, passed away peacefully at Hurley Regional Medical Center on January 27, 2022, at the age of fifty-four years old. Daren was the devoted husband of Nikki Hawley for eleven years. He was born on July 19, 1967, in Flint, Michigan. He was the son of Larry and the late Sharon Hawley. In addition to his mother, Daren was preceded in death by his sister, Jill as well as his grandparents. Daren is survived by his father, Larry (Deborah) Hawley; six children: Ashlei (John) Johnson, Daren (Staci) Hawley, Ryan (Avery) Hawley, Dominick Guerra, Ethan Guerra, and Sydney Guerra, as well as his grandson, Nathaniel Johnson, and expected grandson. He is also survived by siblings: Ginger (Joe) Young, Todd (Tanya) Hawley, nieces Taylor and Brooklyn as well as nephew Devon Hawley, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Daren was a graduate of Mt. Morris High School, where he participated in football. After graduation, he enlisted in the Air Force and served in Minot, North Dakota for four years. Daren was an avid hunter and craftsman. Daren worked in automotive sales for over thirty years. He enjoyed camping with family, hunting, spending time in his workshop, and traveling. Daren volunteered his time helping the youth program at church. As a father figure to two groups of children, Daren strove to pack a lifetime of memories into as little time as possible. He will be remembered for his quick-witted humor, practical jokes, undeniable stubbornness, and ability to make everyone around him smile. In spite of his struggles with medical issues, especially over the last few years, Daren faced every day with a positive outlook and insurmountable strength. He lived his life to the fullest and took comfort in his favorite verse: What we suffer now is nothing compared to the glory He will reveal to us later. Romans 8:18.
A Celebration of life memorial service will take place at 11:00 am, Friday, February 4, 2022, at the Flushing United Methodist Church, 413 E. Main St. Flushing, Michigan 48433. Daren's family will be present to receive friends at the Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services in Mt. Morris, from 1:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Thursday, February 3, 2022; and on Friday morning from 10:00 am until the time of service at 11:00 am. Pastor Jim Harvey, officiating. In accordance with Daren's wishes, cremation has taken place; with a private burial will take place at Great Lakes National Cemetery.
