Obituary of Marvin Harvey Gohsman

Of Vassar age 82 died Thursday, January 17, 2008 at Select Specialty Hospital in Saginaw. Marvin was born August 28, 1925 in Tuscola Township the son of Mr. and Mrs. Louis W. and Charlotte K. (Ranke) Gohsman. He and Doris Hills were united in marriage May 5, 1951, in Fairgrove, Michigan. Marvin was a member of the St. LukeAaas Lutheran Church and worked for the Eaton Corp. retiring in 1989 from Grede Foundry. He enjoyed farming and taxidermy. Marvin leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 56 years Doris, son Thomas M. (Cindy) Gohsman; grandson Jason (Christina) Gohsman; 2 great grandchildren; Bruce and Logan Gohsman, sisters; Ruth Dietzel, Loraine McMahon, and Donna (Skip) Carpenter. He was preceded in death by his parents and daughter Kathy Ann Gohsman. Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 21, 2008 at 11:00am at St. LukeAaas Lutheran Church in Vassar with Pastor James Plocher officiating. Burial to follow in the Riverside Cemetery. MarvinAaas family will receive friends at the Martin Funeral Home in Vassar on Sunday from 12:30pm to 8:00pm. On Monday, Marvin will be taken to church where he will lie in state from 10:00am until the time of service at 11:00am. Memorial donations may be considered to St. LukeAaas Lutheran Church and School, envelopes are available at the funeral home and at the church.
