Lois was born in Otter Lake, Michigan, on September 20, 1934, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest and Edith (Stapleton) Burns. Educated locally, Lois graduated from Otter Lake High School with the Class of 1952. She met and married the love of her life, Dale Seltzer, on August 26, 1955, at a Methodist Church in Millington. Their union would be blessed with two beautiful children. Sadly, Dale preceded her in death on March 2, 2017. Lois worked for AC Spark Plug as a factory worker for 31 years, until her retirement in 1985. Lois then started working as a grandmother and was the best babysitter her children could ever ask for. Tending to her family and grandchildren was her whole world. She was a blessing to them and them to her. Lois enjoyed bowling on a league with her husband every Sunday for many years. She loved to crochet and made many afghans for herself and for others. Lois loved people and would do anything for anyone. She would give her last dime and the clothes off her back to someone in need. Talking was her specialty. She was not allowed to be left alone as she would talk to everyone she met. In her free time, Lois enjoyed watching westerns and playing games with her family. Her devotion to her family is what she will always be remembered for. She will be greatly missed.
Left to cherish Lois’ memory are her children: Dale and wife, Lisa Seltzer, and Lois Witek; grandchildren: Dane and wife, Belinda, Ciara and husband, Eric, Kylie, Cameron, Julia, and Bryce; great-grandchildren: Daxton, Maxwell, Logan; siblings: Gilbert and wife, Linda Burns, Ernest and wife, Nancy Burns, Monty and wife, Joann Burns, Dennis and wife, Jean Burns; several nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
Lois was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Dale, her parents, sister, Judy Jenkins, and brother-in-law, Tom Jenkins.
