Robert was born in Flint on October 8, 1930, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Francis and Grace (Williams) Howe. Meeting Elizabeth Canfield on a blind date, and then falling in love, the two were united in marriage on September 17, 1949. Their union would bear them three wonderful children. Sadly, she preceded him in death on May 3, 2016. Robert worked as a Tool Maker for the GM Tank Plant for 40 years, until his retirement in 1990. He was a member of the UAW Local #1292. Robert was a member of Trinity Assembly of God, where he would sing in the choir, until just a few months ago. He loved to sing. When he was raising his family, Robert enjoyed his vegetable garden where he would grow many crops to feed his family. His favorite hobby was driving around in the classic cars he owns with his favorite car being his 1917 Model T. In his free time, he enjoyed traveling and going on vacations.
Left to cherish Robert’s memory are his children: Daniel and wife, Paula Howe, Judith and husband, Donald Baxter, Kevin and wife, Mary Howe; 6 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild.
Robert was preceded in death by his loving wife of 67 years, Elizabeth, and his parents.
