Obituary of Essie Jane Stewart
Age 66, of Caro, died Tuesday, August 24, 2021, at home. In accordance with Essie’s wishes, cremation has taken place. There are no further services scheduled at this time. Expressions of sympathy may be placed on Essie’s tribute page at martinfuneralhome.com.
Essie was born in Greenup, Kentucky, on June 26, 1955, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Woodroe and Anne (Kimbler) Stewart. Educated in Kentucky, Essie graduated from Greenup County High School with the Class of 1973. Essie loved going on walks and bird watching. She loved to sit outside and watch the rain and listen to thunderstorms. Essie had a huge flower garden, with her favorite flowers being purple pansies. Essie not only took great care of her own children, but she also took care of all the children in her family. She was a helper to others and was a kind and compassionate person. Essie always found the good in others and in this world, and she loved all people. Having a deep spiritual connection with God, Essie spent most of her time reading scriptures from the Bible and she even taught herself how to read Hebrew. She was very dedicated to learning. Essie loved to make quilts and always wanted to make something for others to brighten up their homes. In her free time, she enjoyed sewing lace pillows, crocheting quilts, and pillow covers.
Left to cherish Essie’s memory are her children: Venessa and Cherilyn Galaban; siblings: Charlotte Parker, Michael Stewart, Doug Stewart, Martin Stewart, Sharon Stewart, Gerry Stewart; several nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
Essie was preceded in death by her parents.
