Greg was born November 5, 1954, in Flint, the son of Mr. and Mrs. James and Carmen (Cruz) Thornton. He graduated from Grand Blanc High School with the Class of 1972. Greg met, fell in love with and married Chanda Presley on December 15, 1984. Their union would be blessed with a son, James. Greg’s career saw him down many paths, and he most recently worked at The Home Depot in Keego Harbor. He loved animals, including many strays, was an avid collector of just about anything, and was a great pool player. Greg also enjoyed listening to rock n’ roll and watching sports. He loved his family dearly, will always be the “fun uncle” and his infectious laugh always lifted our spirits.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 37 years, Chanda, his son, James Robert Thornton, mother, Carmen C. Thornton, two brothers, James Bernardo Thornton and Floyd Raymundo Thornton and his fiance, Susie Lybarger, two sisters, Jet Eva and husband Mark Kilmer and Therese Naomi and husband Red Bachman, and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Greg was preceded in death by his father, James.
