Loren was born in Clio on October 24, 1932, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Alonzo W. and Neena B. Austin. Loren met his beautiful bride, Roxanna Hiles, when he was bowling on a league at Nightingale Lanes. The two dated, fell in love, and were united in marriage on May 31, 1974, at a small church in Mt. Morris. Loren was a co-owner of Custom Collision, before moving up north and opening Bill's Body Shop until he retired from doing collision work. His wife's career took them in and out of state. On their return to the Flint area he became the parts driver for the Old Victor George, where he continued to work into his seventies. He fully retired in 2005. Having a perfect yard was one of Loren’s prize possessions. His yard always looked meticulous, and he was known for having the best flowers and landscaping. Loren was a member of the Eastside Community Church of Christ. Loren had a wonderful sense of humor, and his teasing nature was like no other. In his free time, Loren enjoyed watching NASCAR, especially Dale Earnhardt, “The Intimidator”, hunting up north, and fishing on Lobdell lake. He loved his family, all children, and his animals. Alwasy wanting to be helpful he would tell anyone "If you need me call, I'm right here."
