Obituary of Josephine Dora Brandt
Age 90, of Mt. Morris, died Tuesday, July 20, 2021, in Ascension Genesys. Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:00 am on Wednesday, July 28, 2021, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Mt. Morris, with burial to follow at Flint Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will be present to receive friends from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Tuesday, July 27, 2021, at Martin Funeral, Cremation, & Tribute Services in Mt. Morris. Josephine will be taken to the church to lie in state from 10:00 am until the time of funeral mass at 11:00 am. Those desiring may direct memorial contributions to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, envelopes will be available at the funeral home and the church. Josephine was born in Birch Run, Michigan on April 10, 1931. Raised by Mr. and Mrs. Anthony "Tom" and Adeline (Vicare) Vanadia. Growing up and was educated, in the Mt. Morris area. After high school, Josephine met, dated, and fell in love with Kenneth Brandt. The two were united in marriage on July 23, 1952, their union blessed them with their daughter Kathleen. Josphine was a family-oriented woman, she loved being around her family. Later in life, Josephine became united with her siblings, they enjoy their time together. Josephine loved being by the water, relaxing, and watching the sunset.
Left to cherish Josephine’s memory are her daughter: Kathleen Willour; grandson: Anthony Willour; brother: Leo and wife, Chris Miller; sisters-in-law: Mary Brandt, Carol, and husband, John Kroll; brothers-in-law: Paul Mannor, Richard and wife, Nancy Brandt, several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Josephine was preceded in death by her husband: Kenneth Brandt; parents: Anthony and Adeline Vanadia; sisters: Vera and husband, Mike Slattery, Eilene and husband, Carl Buschkey, Marilynn, Mary Lou Morse, and Pat Dymanski; Miller brothers; Frank, John, Earl, Gary, and Tony; brothers-in-law: Dennis and wife, Joyce Brandt, Chuck Brandt; sister-in-law: Marilynn Mannor; and special friend: Janet Seeley.
