Age 77, of Flint, passed away Monday, April 12, 2021, at McLaren Flint. In accordance with David's wishes cremation has taken place; there are no further services scheduled at this time. David was born in Hillman, Michigan, on October 12, 1943, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ora and Bertha (Wicks) Gary. Educated locally, David graduated from Utley High School, with the class of 1961. Shortly after graduating, David would begin working in the electronics field as a Television Repair Technician. His career path would lead to working for numerous companies throughout the greater Flint area where ever the demand took him. In 2006, when David decided to retire and he turned his career into a hobby for friends and family. He was best known for tinkering around, always willing to help someone in need, and for his love for animals, so much so he was known for "having a zoo at home." David married the love of his life, Jean Ann Rose in Flint, on October 19, 2015. Their union would be blessed with four children. In his free time, David loved playing games especially, World of WarCraft, tinkering, hunting, and fishing. He also loved spending time with his family, friends, and his pooch.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Jean Ann Rose; four children: Tammi Gary, Terri Forrest, David Gary II, and Tiffany and husband, Ethan Meeks; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; three siblings: Dallas D'Angelo-Gary and wife, Cheryl, Karen Vanhorn, Dale and wife, Kyle Gary; best friends: Doug Bonney, Richard Ludorf, Roger Moll; and many other family members.
David was preceded in death by parents, granddaughter, Amanda Dawn; brother-in-law, Dean Vanhorn; aunt, Irene Bennett, cousins: Johnny Kemp, and Oscar Wicks.
