Age 88, of Vassar, died Thursday, April 8, 2021, peacefully in her home. In accordance with Mary’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Expressions of sympathy may be placed on Mary’s tribute page at martinfuneralhome.com.
Mary was born in Caro, Michigan, on December 19, 1932, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Stephen and Rose (Petho) Kish. She attended the Old Country School in Caro. Mary met, fell in love with, and was married to the love of her life, Robert Connell. She was a nurse for the Caro Center State Hospital until her retirement in 1984. Mary loved talking on the phone with loved ones and considered it quite the reward. She loved spending time Up North at her cabin in Grayling. In her free time, Mary enjoyed flower gardening, reading, watching Little House on the Prairie, and spending time with her grandchildren. The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks for the love and care given to Mary from her nephew, Mark Kish, over the last 2 years.
Mary leaves to cherish her memory, two daughters: Lynne Smith and Mary Adams; and her beloved grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Connell; son: Dennis Connell; son-in-law: Charles Adams; parents; siblings: Frank and wife, Shirley Kish, Steve and wife, Sheryl Kish, Helen and husband Wilford Rock, Albert Kish, Julie and husband, William, Dillon.
