Obituary of Leon Earl Todd

Of Flint, age 93, died Wednesday, October 2, 2013, at Hurley Medical Center. The funeral service will take place 11:00 am, Saturday, October 5, 2013, at the Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services in Mt. Morris. Pastor David Burkett will officiate with burial to follow in Flint Memorial Park, with Graveside Military Honors conducted by the American Legion Post #158. Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Friday, from 11:00am to 8:00 pm, and Saturday, from 10:00 am until time of service at 11:00 am. Memorial contributions may be directed to the VFW Post # 4005. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Leon was born July 21, 1920, in Midland, Michigan, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Earl and Eva Mae (Boddy) Todd. He and Maxine Stone were united in marriage December 6, 1946. He proudly served his country in the United States Army, during World War II. Upon his honorable discharge, Leon worked for Consumers Power for 33 years, until his retirement. He was a member of the VFW #4005. Left to cherish his memory are son Mark and wife, Bonnie Todd; grandchildren, Tara Stawasz, Michael and wife, Veronica Todd, William and wife, Darci Todd and Erin Todd; great-grandchildren, Travis and wife, Jenna, Michelle and husband, Scott, C.J. and Raelynn; great-great granddaughter, Lexie; sisters, Bonita Chaplin and Conita Hutchinson; sisters-in-law, Pat Ruddy and Eunice and husband, Cliff Wager; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Maxine; son, David; brothers, Delos and Wayne; and sister, Vera.
