Obituary of Hobart Ray Roache

Of Clio, and Benzonia, Michigan, died January 27, 2021. Ray's family will be present to receive friends and family at Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services in Mt. Morris from 11:00 am until 7:00 pm on Tuesday, February 2, 2021. Ray's final resting place will be at Morning Star Cemetery in Church Hill, Tennessee, at a later date. Those desiring may direct memorial contributions to the DNR Game and Fish Protection Trust Fund in memory of Ray Roache; envelopes will be available at the funeral home. Hobart “Ray” Roache was born November 11, 1928, the son of Mr. and Mrs. James and Maxie (Upchurch) Roache in Rode, Virginia. Ray was raised in Big Stone Gap, Virginia, then moved to Michigan to work for Buick for 30 years prior to his retirement. Ray enjoyed being outdoors-fishing, hunting, camping, and gardening. He was an avid Detroit Tigers Baseball and Detroit Lions Football fan; he was always watching their sporting events.
Left to cherish his memory are his daughters: Jill Hicks and Cathy, and husband David Clark; grandchildren: Dwight, and wife Nadine Hicks, David, and wife Genise Hick, Leslie Hicks, Justin, and wife Lindsay Clark, David, and wife Alice Clark Jr, Amanda Roache, and Amy, and husband Nick Roache-Fedchenko; many great-grandchildren.
Ray was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Naomi; son, James Roache; close friend Bonnie King; three siblings: Robert, Ralph, and Laura.
