Obituary of Donna Ruth Lee

Age 85, of Vassar, died Monday, January 25, 2021, at Chesaning Comfort Care. In accordance with Donna's wishes, cremation has taken place. Donna was born in South Haven, Michigan, on September 12, 1935, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Donald and Ruth (Johansen) Smith. Educated locally, she graduated from Flint Northern High School with the Class of 1953. Donna met and fell in love with Roy Lee; the two united in marriage on January 21, 1955. Working as an account rep for Zehnders and Associates, Donna made time to do the things she loved, such as sewing clothing for her children and herself, reading, and traveling. As a member for 43 years of the American Business Women's Association, Donna traveled to many places. She and her family also loved taking vacations and traveling together. Donna and Roy celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary by taking a Caribbean cruise. When it came to the holidays, Donna loved to decorate and make them memorable for her family. Christmas was her favorite holiday, from decorating and cooking to spending time with her family. 
  

Left to cherish her memory are her two children: Karl Lee and Kim Hamilton; daughter-in-law, Terri Lee; grandchildren, Ian and wife, Krista Hamilton, Taylor, and husband, Joe Wagner, Brandon and wife, Heather Lee, Courtney and husband, John DesJardins, Blair Carter, Elexis and husband, Matt Meloy, Elyse and husband, Thomas Swope; 12 great-grandchildren; sister, Sally, and husband, Jim Hathley; several nieces, nephews, and friends.
 

Donna was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Roy; son, Dr. Kirk Lee; brother, Tom Smith; son-in-law, Kevin Hamilton.
