Obituary of Myra Ellen Dees

Age 82, of Davison, passed away Sunday, December 20, 2020, at McLaren Flint. A private family funeral service will take place on Monday, December 28, 2020, at Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services in Mt. Morris. Pastor Larry Servance to officiate. The family will be present to receive friends on Monday from 12:00 pm until 3:00 pm. Myra was born in Lilbourn, Missouri, on January 6, 1938, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Will and Verna (Brown) Dees. As a teenager, Myra's family moved to Michigan, where she was educated locally through the Bendle Community Schools. Myra would go to continue her education at Baker College, earning her associate's degree. Myra worked in the housing industry as an apartment manager in many different communities throughout Michigan. She was also a country and gospel singer. Myra sang on the road with Jack Ripley, singer, song-writer, and comedian in the '80s and even recorded a record of her own. Myra was an active member of the First Baptist Church in Flushing, and served as a Deaconess there for several years. She was a diligent prayer warrior for many people, and led several people to the Lord. Myra enjoyed traveling and always loved family get-togethers. In her free time, Myra enjoyed sewing, making blankets for her family and friends, quilting, and cooking.
Myra leaves to cherish her memory three children: Donna Bruce, Mark and wife, Tracy Lundy, Patti Abraham; grandchildren: Chad Bruce, Tiffany Bruce Dingman and husband Eric Dingman, Krystal (Swickart) Cooper, Rachel Cooper, Tristan Lundy, Tiffany Rodriguez, Kenneth Abraham, Whitney and husband, Boyd Evans; 17 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; ex-spouses, Donald Payne Douglas Jr., James McBride, Joseph Kyle Lundy, and J.V. Haddock.
Myra was preceded in death by her parents; six brothers: Willie Edward, Virgil Elmo, Clyde Richard, Carl Dees, Everett Lee, and Dewey Earl
