Obituary of Roland Kenneth Jinks, Sr.

Age 80, of Clio, died Monday, December 14, 2020, at Fostrian Nursing Home. In accordance with Ken’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A private burial will take place at Great Lakes National Cemetery at a later date. Expressions of sympathy may be placed on Ken’s tribute page at martinfuneralhome.com. Memorial contributions in Ken’s memory may be considered to the Genesee Lions Club.
Ken was born in Burton on October 4, 1940, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Floyd A. and Sarah Carolyn (Smith) Jinks. Raised in Otisville, and educated locally, Ken would heed the call of his country, proudly serving in the United States Army. Upon his honorable discharge, he returned to Flint to begin his career at General Motors. Ken worked in the skilled trades at Buick for 30 years until his retirement on February 1, 1998. He was a member of the UAW # 599 and actively volunteered with the Genesee Lions Club. In his free time, Ken enjoyed woodworking, hunting, carpentry, and working on tractors.
Ken leaves to cherish his memory son: Colen Jinks; daughter: Kenna Walker; nephew: Russell Minge and his family and Don and several other nieces, nephews and friends.
Ken was preceded in death by his lifetime companion of 23 years, Janet Pahman; his son, Roland Jr.; several grandchildren; his parents; several brothers and sisters.
