Obituary of Linda Davis Wood

Age 79 of Mt. Morris, died on Wednesday, December 9, 2020, at Fostrian Manor in Flushing. A private graveside service will be held on Wednesday, December 16, 2020, at Great Lakes National Cemetery. Pastor Kevin Dixon to officiate. A celebration of Linda's life will be announced in the Spring of 2021. Memorial donations may be directed to Catholic Charities of Shiawassee and Genesee Counties. Linda was born on March 16, 1941, in Flint, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William and Lillian (Hautaula) Cole. Raised in Mt. Morris, Linda was educated locally at St. Mary Catholic School in Mt. Morris, graduating with the Class of 1959. After graduation, Linda was a busy homemaker, raising her family. Later, Linda would work as a nurse's aide, caring for patients at area hospitals, until her retirement.
As time passed, Linda was reacquainted with an old friend Owen Wood. The two dated, fell in love, and were united in marriage on March 14, 1995. Linda was a devoted wife, grandma, and great-grandma, and she dearly loved her family.
In her free time, Linda enjoyed crocheting, golfing, traveling, and going to the casino.
Linda leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Owen; her children: Christopher Davis and Cheryl Davis; 6 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren' and her sister, Janice Schmunk.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Jacquelyn Davis; grandson, Christopher Davis; and sister, Sally.
