Obituary of Janet Faith Seeley
Age 82, of Mt Morris, died Monday, December 7, 2020, at her home. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, December 11, at Woodlawn Cemetery, Mill St. (Clio Rd.) North of Wilson Road, Clio. Pastor Dave "Larry" Spooner to officiate. Memorial contributions in Janet's memory may be directed to the Juvenile Diabetes Association. Janet was born in Flint, Michigan, on July 1, 1938, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clinton and Katherine (Blakely) Smith. Raised in Beecher and educated locally; Janet attended Beecher Schools and graduated with the Class of 1956. Janet met the love of her life, Dave Seeley, while out with friends. The two dated, fell in love, and were united in marriage on June 22, 1957, in Flint. Dave sadly preceded Janet in death on February 3, 2005. Janet was a devoted wife, mom, and grandma, staying home and raising her family. As her family grew up, she returned to the workforce as a teller for Michigan Federal Credit Union, retiring with 20 years of service. Janet was a long-time member of St. Mary Catholic Church, where she volunteered in many capacities and sang in the choir. Janet was very devoted to her family and loved spending time with her grandchildren. She had many special friends that have lasted a lifetime. In her free time, when not busy with family and friends, Janet enjoyed car rides with her husband, Dave, and decorating her home. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Grace Hospice and Janet's caregivers, Terri Lynn, Jo, and Jim, for the love, care, and family support shown to our mom.
Janet leaves to cherish her memory four children: Mary Seeley, David, and wife, Maiter Seeley, Mike and wife, Cindy Seeley, Anjanette and husband, Art Laurin; grandchildren: Traci and husband, Chad Bratton, Tara and husband, Jonathon Miedema, Aricka Anderson, Clyde Anderson III, Carie Perigord, Richard and wife, Shawn Goller, Kristen, and husband, Alex Rossiter, Alexis, Alex, Andrea, Adyson Laurin; 12 great-grandchildren; and many extended family members and dear friends.
Janet was preceded in death by husband of 48 years: Dave; son-in-law, Clyde Anderson Jr.; parents; brother: Harold Smith and infant sister, Faith Smith; and several other extended family members.
