Obituary of Jack Lynn Hills

Age 62, of Akron, died Sunday, December 6, 2020, at McLaren Bay Region. A private funeral will take place on Thursday, December 10, 2020, at Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services in Fairgrove. Jack was born in Bay City on August 2, 1958, the son of Mr. and Mrs. William Jack and Charlotte (Roth) Hills. Raised in Akron, and Fairgrove, Jack graduated from Akron-Fairgrove High School with the Class of 1976. After high school, Jack went to work at General Motors, Saginaw Steering Gear, working as a laborer, retiring in 2009. Jack met the love of his life, Cindy, at work in 1992. The two dated, fell in love, and were united in marriage on July 2, 1994, in Fairgrove. Jack was a member of the UAW Local #699. After his retirement, Jack and Cindy spent their winters in Tampa Bay, Florida. Jack loved to sit around the campfire with his family and friends. He was a loving and devoted husband and was known for his great sense of humor, quick wit, and many jokes. Jack had a very special bond with his nieces and nephews and his in-laws. His favorite past time was spoiling his beautiful wife. Jack was an all-around handyman, especially when it came to plumbing. In his free time, Jack enjoyed boating, watching sports, golfing, and hunting with his brothers and nephews. He also enjoyed doing yard work and taking care of his beach on the Saginaw Bay.
Jack leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Cynthia; two brothers: David and wife, Joanne Hills, and James and wife, Shelley Hills; several nieces and nephews; a great-nephew named after him; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Peter and Agatha Gokey; brothers and sisters-in-law: Ray and wife, Kim Gokey, Mike and wife, Brenda Gokey, Keith and wife, Maggie Gokey, and Vickie and husband, Doug Vader; and his beloved fur babies: Joey and Dolly.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Daniel Hills.
