Obituary of Edith Augusta (Beach Bartley) Dantzer
Age 95, of Flint, died, on Thursday, October 22, 2020, in Symphony Nursing Home in Linden. A funeral celebrating Edith's life will take place at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, October 27, 2020, at North End Baptist Church in Mt. Morris, 7360 Clio Rd, Mt Morris, MI 48458. Pastor Jon Locke to officiate, with burial to follow in Flint Memorial Park. Edith's family will be present to receive friends at North End Baptist Church in Mt. Morris, on Tuesday, from 11:00 am until time of the time of service at 1:00 pm. Memorial contributions in Edith's name may be considered to the Alzheimer's Association. Edith was born on September 8, 1925, in Kerry, Oregon, to Mr. & Mrs. Charles and Iva (Streeter) Beach. Edith was raised and educated in Michigan. In a diner in West Branch, Edith met the love of her life, Carl Dantzer. The two dated, fell in love, and were united in marriage on May 7, 1949; Sadly, he preceded her in death on September 25, 2018.
While raising six children, Edith returned to school and earned a diploma from Beecher High School in 1973. She would then work for the Beecher School District in the food service department for 18 years, retiring in 1988.
Edith was a devoted homemaker, not only to her own family but to many others as well. She was always the hostess for all holidays and family gatherings. Edith was an avid gardener, and she and Carl enjoyed traveling throughout the United States and abroad.
Edith leaves to cherish her memory her children: Wilma Bartley Storrs and husband, Douglas Storrs, Carl and wife, Laurie Dantzer, Michael and wife, Bonnie Dantzer, Robert and wife, Jan Dantzer, and Charles and wife, Lynette Dantzer; daughter-in-law, Claudette Dantzer; 15 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren; two sisters: Nora David, and Doris Maynard; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Carl; son, Gary Dantzer; grandson, Carl Anthony Dantzer Jr., granddaughter, Corrinne Dantzer, a great-grandson, Brady Dantzer; two sisters: Iva and Ellen and two brothers: Charley and Archie.
