Obituary of Shirley Ann Barnes

Age 72, of Lapeer, died Wednesday, August 19, 2020, at McLaren Flint. A private graveside service will take place at a later date. The family will be present to receive friends from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm on Saturday, August 22, 2020, at Martin Funeral, Cremation, and Tribute Services in Mt. Morris, 1194 E. Mt. Morris Rd Mt. Morris, MI 48458. Those desiring may direct memorial contributions in Shirley’s name to the Genesee County Humane Society. Shirley was born in Marianna, Arkansas, on August 1, 1948, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Albert and Dorothy (Smith) Wyatt. Shirley was raised and educated locally in the south before moving with her family to Michigan. Shirley worked in production for Buick for several years before retiring. In her free time, Shirley enjoyed reading, spoiling her grandchildren, and doting on her dogs.
Shirley left to cherish her memory, son: Joel and wife Sheri Barnes; two daughters: Lori Gower, Amanda Holland: two grandsons: Tristin Hedrick, Nicklas Nisner; granddaughter: Kelsey Holland; sister: Linda and husband Jimmy Moore; brother: Jim Wyatt; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents and grandson: Joseph Gower.
