I always remember "pops" as being in a good mood and having a quick witted humorous response. He enjoyed time with his grand kids and especially enjoyed time on the golf course. I was lucky enough to enjoy a round of golf with him in Hawaii after he had given me his blessing to marry his daughter. He was often soft spoken but his words were very meaningful. I will miss him very much. RIP "pops".

Dear Aunt Barb, Michelle and Greg,
Ralph was truly one of the kindest men I have ever met. We are so grateful that Aunt Barb and Ralph found each other, to share this chapter of their lives together. He will always stand out in my memory as a man of grace, class and kindness. I am so very sorry that you are all having to go through this huge loss, during such a difficult time. I am so sorry that I couldn't make the trip out to pay my respects. But know that I will always think of him with the highest opinion and respect. I will be thinking of you all as you work through this pain. Love, Lydia (Barb's niece), Mike (Barb's nephew) Jeff, Scout, Terra and Felix

Ralph epitomized the term gentleman. He was the one of the most caring, gentle people that I have ever known. He never spoke ill of anyone, regardless of the circumstances. I only knew Ralph after we both moved into Grand Reserve, so it has only covers about 10 years, but I have no doubt that he was that nice ever since he was born. My most fond memories of Ralph were of the times that we golfed together considering that for quite some time he & I were the only ones that walked Fenton Farms in the Grand Reserve Golf League, so we were paired up in the same foursome quite often. During those days I took great delight anytime I could outdrive Ralph off the tee and I let him know it. Unfortunately for me, it was all too rare an occurrence. For a while at Grand Reserve I also got Ralph to play water volleyball and pickleball until he injured himself trying to return a pickleball when he was teaching Barb. Even then he took it all in stride and didn't complain. What a guy!! I will miss Ralph dearly.
