Obituary of Gary Don Miller

Age 74, of Mt. Morris, died Sunday, August 9, 2020, at his home. In accordance with Gary's wishes, cremation has taken place. Burial will take place at Great Lakes National Cemetery, 4200 Belford Rd, Holly, with Graveside Military Honors. Those desiring may direct memorial contributions to Disabled Veterans of America. Gary was born in Caruth, Missouri, on November 24, 1945, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel and Betty (Akers) Miller. Graduating from Flint Northern High School with the class of 1964, He would go on to work for General Motors, before heeding the call of his Country to proudly serve in the United States Army during the Vietnam War from December 16, 1965, until his honorable discharge on September 20, 1967. Upon returning to the States, Gary went back to work on the production line for Buick for over 30 years until his retirement. He was a member of AA, UAW Local #599, and enjoyed going to the McDonald's on Mt. Morris Rd. and Dort Hwy for breakfast and lunch. In his free time, Gary enjoyed golfing and family functions.
Left to cherish his memory are his brother: Ron Miller; sister: Sherry and husband Alan Schlicht; Niece: Kilm and husband Kris Murphy; nephew: Michael and wife Carrie Schlicht; great-niece: Ashley Murphy; great-nephews: Justin and Jacob Murphy; special friend: Steven Rinks; and many friends from AA.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents.
