COVID-19 UPDATE: With the recent guidelines limiting the number of people to less than 10 at any gathering, we are asking that you consider other ways to help support family and friends during this difficult time as an alternative to attending a visitation or funeral.

Age 80, of Flint, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, August 1, 2020, at home.  In accordance with Darlene's wishes, cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital. Expressions of sympathy and memorial contributions may be placed on Darlene's tribute page at martinfuneralhome.com.

Darlene was born in Flint, on June 9, 1940, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Dallas Wilson and Eleanor (Boismier) Pruett. Educated locally, Darlene graduated from Mt. Morris High School with the class of 1958. After high school, Darlene would work as a nurses aide and a private home care nurse while raising her family. In the early 1970’s she met Melvin Jacobi. The two dated, fell in love and were united in marriage in 1972. Sadly, he preceded her in death in September 1991. Darlene would later meet and marry Thomas Peacock in September 2010. Sadly, he preceded her in death in June 2017. In her free time, Darlene enjoyed traveling, shopping, going to the casino, crocheting, and collecting cookbooks so she could try new recipes. Darlene also enjoyed eating out, eating sweets and baking. Her greatest blessings in life were her children, grandchildren, and family in general.

Left to cherish Darlene’s memory are her four children: Trudy and husband, Ron Nicks, Lance and wife, Jean Troop, Cory Troop, and Crystal and husband, Reddy Gurramkonda; grandchildren: Haley, Doug, Heidi, Josh, and Katrina, and great-grandchildren: Alex, Jackson, and Alyah.

Darlene was preceded in death by her parents, husbands: Melvin Jacobi and Thomas Peacock.
