Dear Aunt Pam...we are grateful for the wonderful visit we had with Uncle Mike at the Shaw family reunion last year in Vassar. We hold him close in our hearts and we will greatly miss him. We will be keeping you in our thoughts and prayers during this time of grieving. To Uncle Mike we would like to say: "Fly high with the Angels."

I remember the first Christmas we spent at my Uncle Mike and Aunt Pam's house. As a kid, I recall my first thought was how mesmerized I was by their house. It was the coolest, most magnificent home I'd ever seen. And that's how I felt, not a house, a home. The first thing we did was get stromboli from some local restaurant and it was delicious. I had never even heard of stromboli and I don't think I've ever had it since. That's good because it's something that I exclusively associate with that experience and the warmth I felt from a man that from the first moment we met, it was like he'd been there all my life. Every time I see a sports jersey I think of the hockey jersey he and my Aunt Pam got me for my first Christmas with them. My Uncle Mike made me feel loved and accepted from the first time, to the very last I ever saw him. I can honestly say he's been a very special man in my life and he's done so much for my heart and soul. I love my Uncle Mike and I sure do miss him.
